SILVANA BOTTEGA
Silvana spent her childhood summers in the Cape, where days unfolded on Clifton Beach — a landscape that remained with her long after she left, becoming what she describes as a “place of memory.” Through life and travel, that connection endured: not simply as a destination, but as an emotional anchor, a place associated with beauty, freedom and a sense of belonging.
Throughout her career, she has been deeply committed to celebrating and championing South African artisans and artists. Driven by a belief in the value of craftsmanship and the importance of preserving creative heritage, she has consistently supported initiatives that elevate local talent and accelerate skills development, helping to bring greater awareness to the remarkable depth of artistry and expertise found across South Africa.
Silvana was selected as a WPP Fellow, a highly regarded distinction, and has built an international career spanning marketing and brand consultancies across Asia-Pacific, Europe and Africa. Alongside her work in branding and luxury, she has written for numerous South African luxury publications and contributed to international media. A brief but formative course in perfumery in Paris deepened her appreciation for scent as a sensory art form and further shaped her fascination with memory, emotion and experience.
Her longstanding passion for wine and spirits saw her lead marketing for Bottega Family Wine for over a decade, where she played a key role in shaping the identity and narrative of the brands. This journey eventually evolved into the creation of her own spirit and perfume collection, Clifton — a brand inspired by memory, place and the enduring power of sensory connection.
